Administering Emergency Seizure Medication - Level 3 (EP-505)


Description
In this course, we will explain how to administer seizure first aid, including the use of Buccal Midazolam when prescribed for the emergency management of seizures.


Learning Outcomes:
Describe what Midazolam is and understand how it is used in the treatment of seizure emergencies.
Identify when Midazolam should be used to stop seizures.
Administer Buccal Midazolam using correct protocols and specific instructions provided in the individual's Epilepsy Management Plan and/or Emergency Medication Management Plan.
Conduct seizure first aid procedures safely and identify when to contact emergency services for further assistance.
